Bump Ups and points series

We have done some bump-ups in our first Spring Series race (1 of 4).  The formula we us is to merely count laps and apply some weighting.  So, this is the first time bump-ups occurred in a regular series.  How will the points work?

Your laps from your most bumped-up race will count.  Why is that?  Well, we can add up all your laps because that would be a crazy number of laps and would encourage a complicated sandbagging contest.  We aren't taking your best main results because that could encourage some sandbagging as well, although it is not a terrible method.  We could average all your bumping up, which would help slightly if you boggle in your ultimate main.

So, the bad case is if you do really well in a main, then break down in your bump-up.  It will be sad.  You are allowed to forgo your bump-up and it will pass on the the next finisher behind you.  If you want to lock in series points, then this may be the wise move.  I think it best reflects the idea that you could claim a trophy in a lower main or choose to move up for a higher reward (except in this case, there may not be a higher reward, unless you actually score more laps).  If you are not focused on series points, you no doubt would want to take the bump-up anyway.
